HAKOM has deregulated Optima Telekom by a temporary solution

In accordance with the termination of management rights, Optima is no longer part of the HT Group and all the assumptions have been created that Optima will no longer maintain the regulatory obligation to conduct the margin squeeze test.

ZAGREB, 12 July 2021 —In June 2017, the Competition Protection Agency (AZTN) adopted a decision according to which HT's management rights in Optima should be completed by 10 July 2021 at the latest.

The termination of the management rights of Optima is no longer part of the HT Group and all the assumptions have been created that Optima will no longer maintain the regulatory obligation to perform the margin squeeze test. By abolishing this obligation, Optima can independently, or without the prior consent of HAKOM, set up tariff packages for the end users for the voice service,  the broadband internet access service and Television charging service, regardless of whether it provides these services independently or as a package of services.

Deregulation is therefore of a temporary nature, i.e. the temporary solution will be in force until the market analysis procedure is completed, i.e. the review of the status of operators with significant market power.
