Electronic communications infrastructure and associated equipment refer to the infrastructure connected to an electronic communications network and/or electronic communications service, which enables or supports the provision of services via that network and/or service. This particularly includes cable ducts, antenna masts, buildings and other related structures and equipment, as well as conditional access systems and electronic programme guides.

HAKOM promotes effective investment in infrastructure and encourages innovation, particularly with the aim of fostering market competition in the operation of electronic communications networks and services.

HAKOM establishes obligations for infrastructure operators and resolves disputes concerning the exercise of rights of way and the shared use of electronic communications infrastructure and associated equipment.
