HAKOM’s 10th round table with stakeholders in the postal services market

The views and experiences gained on the market were exchanged and the results were presented regarding the survey of business users’ needs and satisfaction.

ZAGREB, 7 December 2023 - Following the invitation of the organiser the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM), the tenth round table of stakeholders in the postal market in the Republic of Croatia was held in Zagreb. The round table was attended by the representatives of authorised postal service providers, the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) and the association “E-Commerce Hrvatska”. The participants were welcomed by Marko Jukić, a member of the Council at HAKOM.

The round table, being the tenth of its kind, served as an opportunity to discuss the current market scenario comprehensively. HAKOM experts from the postal services sector presented insights into the postal services market in the Republic of Croatia and the European Union, shedding light on trends and the overall situation. A notable aspect of the round table was the presentation of results from a social survey conducted on the satisfaction and needs of business users of postal services. This survey provided valuable information that could potentially shape future developments in the sector. Additionally, an overview of international activities in the field of postal services was presented. Marcel Majsan, the president of the eCommerce Hrvatska Association, presented a new survey on online buyers, conducted on 1,439 respondents by Algebra HEI in November 2023.

Within scope of the event, a panel discussion was held where all participants at the round table had the opportunity to exchange views and hear practical experiences on current and future trends in the EU postal sector with a focus on e-commerce and correlation with ways of delivering e-commerce generated shipments in the current and future medium-term period.
