HAKOM publishes 10th Public Tender for the Development of Socially-Useful Applications

HAKOM published the tenth public tender for the development of three new socially-useful applications under the Programme for Internet and Broadband Development in Areas of Special State Concern, Hilly and Mountainous Areas and Islands.

ZAGREB, 4 August 2014 – The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) invited a new public tender for the development of three new applications under its Programme for Internet and Broadband Development in Areas of Special State Concern, Hilly and Mountainous Areas and Islands. Ideas for applications were previously selected in a public tender taking into account the feasibility criteria, assessment of costs for the realization of individual ideas and direct and indirect benefits for citizens.

The tender has been published for the development of the following three applications:

e-Aids – An application for monitoring the exercise of the right to medical devices that will ensure integration of IT systems for prescribing, approving and taking over/delivery of devices into a central system thus ensuring quicker and more quality information flow, provision of feedback to doctors about types of available devices, status of approval of devices for their patients and/or status of delivery of devices. Additional value for insured persons would be quicker and easier exercise of their right to a medical device, and contractors offering the delivery of devices would have up to date information on which device is intended for which insured person.

Mobile technologies for monitoring health condition of patients with chronic diseases  – In order to improve quality of life of patients with chronic diseases, patients using palliative care and patients with special needs and to ensure availability of health care regardless of their location, it is necessary to monitor the condition of a patient by means of mobile technologies, to provide training about diseases and about ways of managing the disease and timely reaction of healthcare institutions to changes in condition. By means of this application, health care employees will be able to carry out remote measuring of patients, to transmit results over the broadband network, to permanently and safely store measurements and to immediately deliver measurements and data to doctors.

Interactive database of dangerous substances – An application that will allow keeping all available information in one place, including information on laws, educational bases, exercises, interventions, databases of companies and persons, and on protective and restoration equipment for dangerous substances in Croatian and other languages. It will also contain experiences of intervention teams on sites of accidents involving dangerous substances edited by prominent Croatian and international experts. It will provide easy and quick access to databases of dangerous substances for reviewing and entry of data by experts/intervention fire-fighting teams (drafting of encyclopaedia, dangerous substances with their characteristics, pictures and videos of events, exercise scenarios, definition of necessary equipment, types of training etc.). Citizens will be given instructions for everyday use of dangerous substances in certain areas of activity.

The tender is open to all interested legal and natural persons, and the deadline for the submission of tenders is 16 September 2014. All additional information is available at HAKOM’s website at the following link: https://www.hakom.hr/default.aspx?id=63&nid=158.
