A recorded growth in the postal services market

In the third quarter, a postal service growth was recorded, compared to the previous year or to the former period of this year.  Larger number of parcels and letters has been provided. Revenue growth has been recorded as well.

ZAGREB, 13 December 2022 – In the third quarter of 2022, the postal services market in the Republic of Croatia has recorded a growth in almost all segments. The total number of postal services increased by 3.4 % compared to the previous quarter and by 5.1% compared to the same period of the previous year. A larger number of services arising from conveyed letters and parcels, with 5,5 % growth in letters than in the third quarter of 2021 and  9 % parcel growth. According to the quantity of services performed, letters have the largest market share, 79.9%, followed by parcels with a share of 12.5 %, while the rest are printed matters.

The number of services in the international postal traffic has been in a constant growth from the beginning of the year, and in the third quarter there were about one million services more, compared to the first quarter with an increase of 27 %. The continuation of the trend is expected.
A larger number of performed services also had a positive impact on realised revenues, which recorded 10.6 percent growth compared to the same period of the previous year. Among other things, the increase in revenues was affected by a number of value added services (express consignments), thus recording 14 % growth.

At the end of the third quarter, postal services in the Republic of Croatia were provided by 24 providers, out of which HP-Hrvatska Pošta d.d. is the largest provider with a 87.7%  market share according to the amount of services performed and a 57.7 % share in total revenues.
