A new version of the multilateral Agreement was signed by HAKOM at the plenary session.

ZAGREB, 12 November 2014 – The 7th plenary session of contracting parties of the HCM Agreement, including Croatia, took place in Budapest between 4 and 6 November 2014. The HCM (Harmonised Calculation Method) Agreement lays down the rules for coordination of frequencies and radio stations between neighbouring countries used in the operation of mobile and fixed radio networks.

The session was organized by the Hungarian Regulatory Authority for Media and Electronic Communications (NMHH), and it was attended by representatives of regulatory authorities from 15 European countries and an ITU representative (International Telecommunications Union). The session focused on reaching the agreement on the amendments to the Agreement and signature of a new version of the Agreement aligning the coordination process with the current and future technological development and new needs in the provision of services using frequency bands covered by the Agreement.

The HCM methodology was established in Europe and its principles are now transferred to the territory of Africa, through ITU and the HCM4A project.

HAKOM’s representatives who attended the plenary session were Ivančica Sakal, Head of the Radiocommunications Department, and Vladimir Duković, expert for microwave and satellite networks.
