At the fourth and the latest tender for the granting of aid for broadband deployment in the areas of special state concern, hilly and mountainous areas and on islands, HAKOM has granted almost HRK 3 million to the selected tenderer.
ZAGREB, 5 March 2014 – The Council of the Croatian Post and Electronic Communications Agency (HAKOM) has selected Pro-Ping Company’s offer as the best offer in the fourth competition for the granting of aid for a fast broadband network development in the areas of special state concern, hilly and mountainous areas and on islands. The selected offer amounts to almost HRK 3 million. It will ensure the connection of 11 target users in the County of Slavonski Brod-Posavina – the last remaining county in the Republic of Croatia in which access to broadband infrastructure for fast Internet will be ensured to the target users. In addition to Pro-Ping, Hrvatski Telekom, VIPnet and Optika TV kabel have submitted their offers for the deployment of fast Internet networks for public institutions, such as schools, health centres and other users in the territory of the County of Slavonski Brod-Posavina.
It is worth mentioning that HAKOM has granted over HRK 33 million of state aid in the first three rounds of the competition for the broadband networks deployment in the areas of special state concern, hilly and mountainous areas and on islands. The programme for the development of the Internet and broadband access in the areas of special state concern, hilly and mountainous areas and on islands foresees aid for the entire chain of values which make up the broadband eco-system: a fast network, the development of services and applications, as well as the accompanying telecommunications equipment.
