Agreement on Cooperation between AZTN and HAKOM signed

The signing of the agreement resumed long-standing good co-operation between the two regulators.

ZAGREB, 17 December 2021 - President of the Competition Council Dr. sc. Mirta Kapural and Tonko Obuljen, Chairman of the Council at the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) signed an updated co-operation agreement on Wednesday (December 15 ). The aim of the agreement is to improve cooperation in the field of protection of competition, particularly in the markets of electronic communications, postal and railway services and digital markets, as well as to ensure effective and efficient competition in the Republic of Croatia. AZTN and HAKOM will continue cooperation through mutual provision of appropriate expert and technical assistance, preparation of expert opinions upon request and for the needs of the counterparty, as well as through the information exchange policy data and information in the field of competition protection in these markets.

Pursuant to the agreement, a continuous education of experts from AZTN and HAKOM in the field of the protection of competition and related areas will be in the process, especially by including them in the educational programmes organised by an authority or organization for one of the Contracting Parties and jointly organising training, expert meetings, round tables or conferences.
