HAKOM hosts BEREC’s third plenary meeting of the year in Dubrovnik

Representatives of European electronic communications regulatory authorities met in Dubrovnik on 1 and 2 October

ZAGREB, 5 October 2026
- The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) hosted the third plenary meeting of the year of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC), held in Dubrovnik on 1 and 2 October 2026.

BEREC provides a platform for cooperation among national regulatory authorities in the field of electronic communications and plays an important role in ensuring the consistent application of the European regulatory framework and in developing the European Union’s Digital Single Market.

Hosting the plenary meeting in Dubrovnik further enhanced HAKOM’s visibility within the European regulatory community and provided an opportunity for the direct exchange of experience and for further strengthening cooperation among European regulatory authorities.

As part of the plenary meeting, elections were also held for BEREC’s leadership positions. Michel Van Bellinghen of the Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications (BIPT) was elected as BEREC Chair for 2028.

The outcomes of the plenary meeting will be presented to interested stakeholders at a Public Debriefing, which will take place on 7 October 2026 in Brussels and will also be available via webcast.

Further information on the Public Debriefing and the related documents is available on BEREC’s official website at the following link.
