9th CRO-IGF Held as Part of the MIPRO Conference
Zagreb, 29 May 2026 - The 9th Croatian Internet Governance Forum (CRO-IGF) was held in Opatija on 27 May 2026 as part of the MIPRO conference, bringing together representatives of the public sector, regulatory authorities, the academic community and industry.
The Forum programme addressed current issues in internet governance, the development of the space sector, and regulatory challenges associated with new European legislative initiatives. Particular attention was given to the announcement of a new round of allocation of generic top-level domains, regulatory issues concerning activities in outer space, and the proposal for the Digital Networks Act (DNA) and its implications for the electronic communications sector.
Participants emphasised the need to strengthen international cooperation, adapt the regulatory framework to technological developments, and ensure legal certainty as well as tangible benefits for end users.
