HAKOM hosting CEPT's international meeting

The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries is hosting a meeting of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT). The topics of the meeting will include, inter alia, the international regulatory framework for the “second digital dividend”.


 
Zagreb, 2 September 2014 – The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) is hosting a gathering of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) at the Esplanade hotel in Zagreb between 1 and 5 September 2014. The gathering includes two meetings, a meeting of the ECC PT1 project team and meeting of CPG PTD (Conference Preparatory Group PTD). The ECC PT1 project team deals with the area of IMT (International Mobile Telecommunications) technologies focused on the development of regulations for the existing and new generations of mobile communications and radio-frequency planning, while the CPG PTD (Conference Preparatory Group PTD) working group is focused on preparation and alignment of European positions for the upcoming World Radiocommunication Conference in 2015 organized by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). The most interesting topics discussed at this gathering include the regulatory framework for the “second digital dividend” (694-790 MHz) and additional spectrum for broadband internet access.
 
The opening speech was given by Domagoj Jurjević, Deputy President of the Council of HAKOM who stressed the importance of this group, which is currently the largest group of the Electronic Communications Committee, due to its participation in the shaping of the future of mobile radiocommunications in the upcoming period.
 
The meeting in Zagreb will gather more than one hundred and forty representatives of European regulators, the industry and international organizations.
