Accessibility 2025 Project: Continued Installation of Communication Boards on Passenger Trains
ZAGREB, 11 June 2025 - Following the installation of the first communication boards at Zagreb Main Railway Station at the end of last year, as part of the Accessibility project aimed at making rail travel easier for people with communication difficulties, the next phase of the project has seen the production of matching stickers, which are now being placed at the front and rear of each passenger train set. These will support assisted communication for passengers and also signal that passenger transport staff are familiar with communication-related challenges and equipped with low-tech communication tools.
The project began in 2022 and has been continuously focused on developing solutions to improve accessibility and enable equal use of public transport for people with disabilities. It has been jointly implemented by HAKOM, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences (ERF), HŽ Infrastruktura Ltd, and HŽ Passenger Transport.
