Announcement: Webinar on Spatial Planning in the Electronic Communications

On Wednesday, September 8, 2021., starting at 9 a.m., in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Architects, the experts from the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) will hold

a Webinar on Spatial Planning in the part of electronic communications.

The buildings of Electronic Communication infrastructure (ECI), planned to be built, should be predicted/planned in spatial planning documents. Otherwise, spatial planning documents can be an obstacle in issuing necessary building permits. In the process of adopting spatial planning documents, it is necessary to issue requests and opinions of HAKOM as a public legal authority, confirming that the spatial planning document governs the construction of the ECI in accordance with regulations in the field of electronic communications and in accordance with the criteria for the development of electronic communications infrastructure. In this way the investors, who invest in the development of a mobile or immobile electronic communications network, will not have obstacles when issuing the necessary permits and approvals for construction. In order to address shortcomings and deficiencies in the  spatial plans and improve their design, conditions and planning methods in the part relating  the ECI, HAKOM points out the necessary application of regulations in the field of electronic communications as an obligation, not only by the authorised planners but also by planning holders. Therefore, greater responsibility is particularly important when respecting professional representation in the development of a part of spatial plans that processes the electronic communications, as well as continuous professional training of planners in this field of development.
