HAKOM Organises BEREC Study Visit to the United Kingdom

Zagreb, 24 September 2025 - As part of its responsibilities as the outgoing Chair of BEREC (the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications), HAKOM organised a study visit for the BEREC Mini-Board to London on 15-16 September 2025. The visit aimed to continue and strengthen the regulatory dialogue between BEREC and the UK regulator OFCOM, as well as to familiarise participants with the work of other institutions and the perspectives of key market stakeholders.

During the visit, BEREC members held meetings with OFCOM and representatives participating in the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum, as well as with officials from the UK Department for Science, Innovation, Technology, and the Alan Turing Institute. Discussions focused on major challenges in the field of electronic communications, including the development of broadband markets, cyber security issues, data protection, and the regulation of digital platforms. The BEREC delegation also took the opportunity to meet with market stakeholders in the United Kingdom, including British Telecom (the incumbent operator) and representatives of other operators affiliated with the UK Competitive Telecommunications Association.
