Meeting with AKOS concerning the reduction of costs of building electronic communications networks

HAKOM exchanged experiences with its Slovenian Colleagues concerning the implementation of Directive 2014/61 on measures to reduce the cost of deploying high-speed electronic communications networks.
 
ZAGREB, 24 October 2014 – A working meeting was held yesterday at HAKOM upon proposal of the Slovenian Agency for Communications Networks and Services (Agencija za komunikacijska omrežja in storitve Republike Slovenije, AKOS). The topic of the meeting was the implementation of the EU Directive 2014/61/EU. The Directive lays down measures to reduce the cost of deploying high-speed electronic communications networks and obliges EU Member States to transpose the prescribed measures into their national laws by 1 January 2016 to be applied as of 1 July 2016. The participants of the meeting exchanged previous experiences with building and regulating the electronic communications infrastructure compared to other utility and basic infrastructure and the achievements in the implementation of the Directive in question. They agreed that the exchange of experiences is necessary and that such meetings should be held twice a year.
 
Furthermore, within the framework of its cooperation with Slovenia, HAKOM visited AKOS on 21 October 2014 with a view to agreeing upon reference bases of harmonized radio stations in private mobile communications networks. The mentioned harmonization will take place in accordance with the HCM (Harmonised Calculation Method) Agreement signed by 17 European countries.The contents of the bases was agreed upon and the relevant Agreement will be signed at the following meeting.
