Parliament discussed HAKOM’s 2013 Annual Activity Report

NEWS

HAKOM’s 2013 Annual Activity Report was presented and discussed by the Croatian Parliament.

ZAGREB, 6 February 2015 – The Annual Activity Report of the Croatian Post and Electronic Communications Agency for 2013 was presented and discussed today by the Croatian Parliament. In the period in question HAKOM was the regulatory authority for electronic communications and postal services only, and the report referred only to markets that were under HAKOM’s competence at that time (since mid-2014 HAKOM has been competent for the rail services market as well). It was concluded that the report was very quality, comprehensive and detailed, and HAKOM was praised as a public authority that promptly deals with requests of local self-government units.

The discussion focused on the electronic communications and postal services markets, with a special emphasis on broadband and reduction of the digital gap between electronically developed areas and rural areas, and on the sustainability of quality and reliable postal services in the entire territory of the Republic of Croatia.

Members of Parliament are expected to vote on the Annual Report on Friday, 13 February 2015.
