Regional Regulatory Forum for Europe Held
Budva, 3 October 2025 - The ITU-EKIP Regional Regulatory Forum for Europe 2025, organised by the national regulator of Montenegro (EKIP) in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), took place in Budva from 29 September to 2 October. The event brought together representatives of regulatory authorities from several European countries, as well as representatives of European and global organisations responsible for electronic communications. This year’s edition of the conference focused on key topics in digital transformation - the development and resilience of digital infrastructure, regulatory strategies for new telecommunications technologies, service quality and consumer protection, as well as challenges in the fields of cybersecurity and privacy.
Participants, including HAKOM experts, exchanged experiences regarding network security and resilience, the implementation of new regulatory requirements under the NIS2 Directive in the area of cybersecurity, and the strengthening of users’ rights in a connected society, with particular emphasis on transparency of information in the provision of public electronic communications services.
In addition to the expert presentations, the event also provided an opportunity for a joint meeting on consumer protection between HAKOM specialists and experts from the regulatory authorities of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, and Kosovo.
