The Agency for Media Appointed as National Contact Point for the Implementation of Regulation (EU) 2024/900 on Political Advertising
Zagreb, 13 April 2026 - The Agency for Media has been appointed as the national contact point for the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2024/900 on transparency and targeting of political advertising.
In March 2026, the Republic of Croatia adopted the Act on the Implementation of the aforementioned Regulation, designating the Agency as the national contact point.
The Regulation lays down rules aimed at enhancing the transparency of political advertising, including the manner in which political advertisements are presented to specific groups of users, particularly in the digital environment. The majority of its provisions have applied since 10 October 2025.
As the national contact point, the Agency for Media serves as the central hub for cooperation and the exchange of information with the competent authorities of other Member States of the European Union and with the European Commission on matters relating to the application of the Regulation.
Pursuant to the Act on the Implementation of Regulation (EU) 2024/1083 establishing a common framework for media services within the internal market, the Agency for Electronic Media continues to operate under the name Agency for Media.
