The Number of Operators' own Connections at Fibre Optic Technology has grown by 30 %

PRESS RELEASE

According to the collected data, in the first nine months, total investments in mobile networks were about 40 % compared to the same period last year, and the number of own FTTX operators' connections have grown  for about 30 %.
ZAGREB, December 12, 2019 - The electronic communications market continued investing in the mobile communications network in the third quarter of 2019, and the total investment in the mobile network has recorded an increase over the first nine months compared to the same period last year, The afore- mentioned growth occurred due to the allocation of additional radio frequency spectrum. Although investment in broadband infrastructure in fixed networks has not remained as equal as in the previous years, the investment in Fibre Optic Technology is of great importance by eventually resulting in a 30% increase in the number of built-in FTTX ports compared to the year before.

Total revenues of entire markets from all services in the fixed and mobile external networks increased by 0.3 % compared to the same period of 2018. At the same time, total revenues from mobile communication services are in slight decline due to lower roaming revenues by domestic users  and roaming of foreign citizens in national networks. Total roaming traffic is higher, but revenue is also lower due to a fall in roaming prices in the national and international networks.

The Growth is being continually recorded by the Pay-TV broadcasting market, with 56% of households using the service. IPTV is still the leading technology with a market share of about 52 % of the total number of Pay-TV Users, and the potential development of this part of the market is still important.
