Conference on the future of Europe to be held on 15 February

Two roundtables on rail passenger and freight transport will be held within the scope of the conference, and users and stakeholders are invited to complete the questionnaire.

ZAGREB, January 24, 2022 - The Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure will hold a “Conference on the Future of Europe” on February 15, 2022. Within the scope of two round tables, the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure will try to obtain information from the service users – citizens and undertakings – on what kind of transport they want, how to achieve and better adapt to their needs. The aim is to get feedback on users' needs and initiate a discussion through which we will try to define what kind of public transport, corresponding simultaneously to the needs of citizens, local and regional self-government, and remains efficient, safe and sustainable. The discussion should also show how good organisation of public transport, especially by using the opportunities available from the EU, can ultimately provide better service to customers and respond to the demands lying ahead. The aim of the line ministry is to bring together users and stakeholders in the freight transport system and timely inform them and prepare them for the changes that come with the new package of European legislation on combating climate change in the area of transport. Therefore, the conference will also discuss the use of clean technologies, digitisation plans and, among other things, the available possibilities of using European funds to improve the system itself.

On the eve of the Conference, all interested parties were invited to participate in the questionnaire, and on what kind of traffic you want you can declare on the link.

During the conference, the interested public will have the opportunity to ask questions to the panellists and to comment via the digital platform, and on the basis of the gathered answers from the survey and the conclusions from the round table recommendations will be made for publication   be made at the  digital platform of the European Commission. The conference is to be monitored virtually, and the monitoring link will be published later.
