Public call for applications for the allocation of number 116 006
ZAGREB, 18 June 2026 - The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) has published a public call for applications for the allocation of the 116 006 number, designated for a helpline service for victims of crime (Victims of Crime).
The 116 006 number enables victims of crime to access emotional support, information on their rights and how to exercise them, as well as referrals to relevant organisations and other forms of assistance. The service also provides information on police and judicial procedures, the possibilities for compensation, and insurance-related matters.
The 116 006 number forms part of the harmonised European 116 numbering range, reserved for services of social value and particular social sensitivity. The objective of the European regulatory framework is to ensure the principle of “the same number - the same service” across all EU Member States, enabling citizens to access the same type of assistance through easily recognisable and standardised short codes.
Further information on 116 numbers is available on the European Commission’s website.
As the previous allocation period for the 116 006 number is due to expire, HAKOM has initiated the procedure for its reallocation. Documentation and additional information are available via the link provided.
