Regional Regulatory Forum for Europe

HAKOM participated in the conference, at which regulatory experiences were exchanged with the aim of adopting guidelines which will contribute to the speedy recovery of the market.
 
ZAGREB, 28 September 2021 – This week the Regional Regulatory Forum for Europe was held under the auspices of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the Montenegrin Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Post ECAP. The forum discussed universal connections to post-pandemic digital Europe, and the Croatian experience was shared by Tonko Obuljen, chairman of the Council at the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM). During the two-day conference, Gordana Kulišić, Senior Consumer Protection Expert at HAKOM  held a lecture on digital accessibility, and in the panel discussion on “implementation 5G: strategies, policies and regulations that accelerate the implementation of mobile connectivity” were attended by Krešimir Mazor, Senior Spectrum Management Sector expert.
 
The Regional Regulatory Forum for Europe is traditionally held within the scope of the ITU Regional Initiative for Europe on Broadband infrastructure, Broadcasting and spectrum Management, adopted at the World RadioCommunication Conference, aimed at ensuring the conditions for users to connect to high-speed internet networks through reliable, secure and quality infrastructure with the best user experience. A number of issues have been raised during the conference and conclusions will be drawn providing the useful guidance on Regulation and challenges in the ICT sector in the context of the economic recovery from the consequences caused by pandemic, based on digital transformation launched by connectivity and clear regulatory action.
