Round Table Held: "HEKUP 25: Persons with Disabilities in Transport – Accessibility for All"

ZAGREB, 23 May 2025 - A round table entitled "HEKUP 25: Persons with Disabilities in Transport - Accessibility for All" was held this Friday in Zagreb. The event was organised by the Croatian Union of Associations of Persons with Disabilities (SOIH), in cooperation with AcessibleEU, the Passive House Consortium, and the University of Zagreb.

HAKOM presented its accessibility programme, which has been in place since 2015. The programme includes a range of initiatives and collaborations aimed at identifying the needs of persons with disabilities before and during rail travel, improving accessibility, training passenger service staff, using communication boards, implementing modern technologies, and undertaking other related activities.

The aim of the event was to bring together stakeholders from various sectors - representatives of ministries, institutions, academia, organisations of persons with disabilities, equipment manufacturers, and experts - to encourage networking and the exchange of information and experiences related to national and European accessibility regulations, with particular emphasis on the European Accessibility Act (EAA).
