The number of users on very high capacity networks (VHCN) continues to grow

The number of users on very high capacity networks increased by 15.8 percent, and total revenues on the electronic communications market increased by 8.4 percent.

Zagreb, 10 July 2023. At the end of the first quarter of 2023, total revenues in the electronic communications market amounted to 375.7 million EUR, and an increase was recorded of 8.4 percent compared to the same period last year. Accordingly, revenues from broadband internet access services grew more than 8, 3 percent, network and line rentals by 33 % and pay TV by 8.4 percent. In the first quarter, the number of users on VHCN networks continued to increase by 15.8 percent compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the migration of users from the copper network to the VHCN network affected the reduction of connections via the copper network, as well as 33.9 percentage growth in the number of new connections through fibre technologies in fixed networks.

In the first three months, 60.8 percent of households used some form of Pay-TV which contributed to the continued upward trend in revenues from this service. Internet protocol television (IPTV) is still the most represented, with more than 55.9 percent of connections.

In the fixed telephone market, the number of users, traffic and revenues has been in decline for several years.
