Plenary Meeting of the Independent Regulator’s Group-Rail

At the IRG Rail meeting, the results of the questionnaire on the national measures were presented, caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, as well as the ways in order to determine the impact of the financial crisis on the railway market.

ZAGREB, 19 May 2020 – Under the auspices of the Belgian regulatory authority, a plenary meeting of the Independent Regulator’s Group (Rail) was held via the online platform this week, May 18 and 19, 2020. The meeting was attended by the representatives of HAKOM.

The meeting presented the results of the research and the ways to improve the work of IRG-Rail, the selection of a new interim co-chairman of the working group on market surveillance from the French regulatory body. The discussion of the previous IRG Rail meeting, held on 21 April 2020, on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic was also continued and a joint report by the IRG Rail on recovery from the Corvid 19 crisis was adopted. The results of the questionnaire on the measures due to the pandemic were also presented and possible ways were discussed on determining the financial impact of the crisis on the railway market.
